Welcome to 2008 Music Festivals!
Summer is here and with it comes thoughts of green grass, music, art, travel, and fun.
July 22, 2008 Update:
Here we are mid-summer. 10klf is up to bat in just a couple of days. Our 10klf Girls (pictured top right at 10klf 2007) and friends are working hard to get ready for it and are leaving in a little over 24 hours for the long drive and then the even longer wait in line. Make sure your tank is full when you get there or you may run out of gas before you get in! Then comes camp set up. Fun process and lots of laughs. Getting to know your neighbors is a big deal. Never know when you'll be asking if they can pass that bottle of ketchup your way. We hope you like our new digs (different web host and template.) We can now offer the real time direct feed of ebay music festival and concert ticket auctions directly on our site. We can be contacted at:
if you should have any questions. Look forward to hearing from you!
April 4th, 2008 Update:
Time is flying by and updates are being added to this directory as new information becomes available. Shakori Hills Music and Dance Festival promoters and volunteers have been hard at work. Check out a preview of their Sustainability Pavilion we've just received from the ever enthusiastic Sara Waters. This Festival offers an Eco Village, along with workshops, and much more. See the listing for more details.
It is time for all current Festival listings to be updated and refreshed. There are some new videos being added along with a link to watch all videos on one page. Any new press releases, announcements, and lineups are being posted. There have been many requests for other Festival listings and our top picks of these will be coming online soon.
March 16th, 2008:
In the spirit of The Enlighten Directory Project's support of all that brings light, peace, and happiness into people's lives, it has launched it's newest directory member: www.2008musicfestivals.com.
With the help of some enthusiastic volunteers, 2008 Music Festivals.com was born as a labor of love and passion for live music. It was launched on March 16th, 2008. The volunteers are choosing their picks for the best and must see up-coming Summer Music Festival Events across North America. They tell me they may expand by adding some Canadian Festival picks as well, but are so busy with those in the U.S. right now, they aren't sure how soon they will get to the music festivals of our northern neighbors. Let's hope they work fast.
The 2008 Music Festivals Directory is ever growing thanks to the suggestions of Festivillian enthusiasts. Make sure you bookmark it and check back for more concert news, events, video, photos, and festival reviews. This is a fun project and an honor to present to the public. We hope that somewhere in your summer you'll find time to enjoy the magic that can only be found at a music festival. Dance, sing, laugh, share, connect, and build memories that last a lifetime!

Link Requests:
We have had some requests for links, and we are always happy to fulfill requests, so here are small image banners (2008musicfestivals.com: 120 x 95 jpeg, The Enlighten Directory: 160 x 150 jpeg). Feel free to grab one or both to post on your site. It would be fun to know who we link with, so drop us line if you don't mind.

BTW:
This is by no means a complete music festival directory. We aren't sure if there is such a thing. What we are sure of is that we have poured over scads of festival websites to pool this information for you. We are Festivillians first. As such, we are posting our top picks as well as the recommendations of other attendees that have made nominations as fast as our fingers will go. We are also sure that we are working hard to give you great pages with links that work and info you can use in a friendly format to help you line up a great Summer! Thanks for coming by and our especially warm appreciation to all those that continue to pass this site on to others, link to us, and Stumble us. It is great fun to watch this project grow!
Can we take just a moment to shine light on some important issues?
There is an urgent need for all of us to become more active in caring for both our planet, and the fellow creatures we share it with. As a species of humans, many of the things we allow and support through our actions or non-actions are saying that we don't care about the world or it's future. That we have no integrity. We'd like to ask you to take a moment to look at the material below, and through small actions, help us make big changes. Become educated, get involved, and most of all, speak up for what you believe in. The following link will take you to The World Society for the Protection of Animals. This organization is doing great work all over the planet. Even a small donation will make a big difference. If you can't make a donation, there are other convenient ways to help. Click the image below for more information.
The Fruit Tree Project:
The Fruit Tree Project is a special kind of Festival, and one of our very favorites. Check out the website. If they are coming to your area, get involved, get kids involved. Singing, laughing, drumming, and planting trees. What a great way to spend a day!Would you like to start your own Fruit Tree Project? Visit the website for more information. www.commonvision.org
P.S.
Below is a short list of other free article directories offered by The Project. Browse and cruise. Some of it we love, some if it is there by default ...we're working on that part.
